The 4th of April teacher organized a special afternoon for students and pupils, In the Anna Frank Primary School . They proposed to them Gregg Segal’s exhibition, an activity where they could recycling coffee pods, an activity where mums and dads discovered how they can use the food that usual is trashed and an activity about the organic compost. All these activities wanted to show how is possible to give a new life to the objects and the foods. We only need a bit of imagination. Are we a creative city or not?!?
This project started in October and finished in January. Every week we went for two hours in a swimming pool were two teachers helped pupils to live in a better way their relationship with water. It was also an opportunity to increase their friendship and to discover the good health habits.
This activity consisted in a game; each pupil had a picture with something necessary if you want to cook a pizza. It’s was funny to discover how everything was interconnected with the other ingredients. Students could see this because we made a chain of the ingredients thanks to some filaments.
After these we understood how organize our vegetable garden.
The class visited a Museum in Parma, where the pupils learned to “read” the paintings. They could saw Felice Boselli’s painting. This italian painter used food in all his canvas. Reading them they could discover what kind of people where guests in Boselli’s house.
This activity was organised in a game: during the lesson pupils understood the importance of a balanced diet for a good healthy habits. The teacher learned the differences between protein, carbohydrate and fiber, also showing a lot of food exemples.
